Daniel M. Murphy, P.C. Scholarship – $350

Many scholarships focus on sports or curriculum that many do not qualify for and as a result, many students have to resort to student loans. Students accumulate thousands of dollars in debt that must be repaid just when they begin their professional lives.

Attorney Daniel M. Murphy, P.C. wants to do his part and has created the 2017 Daniel M. Murphy, P.C. Scholarship. All students who are in need of  financial assistance are free to apply for the $350 scholarship.

Requirements of Eligibility

Students that meet the below requirements are asked to apply for the 2017 Daniel M. Murphy, P.C. scholarship:

  • You must be a citizen of the United States, OR they must have a permanent and legal residence in the United States
  • You must have earned an income in 2016 of less than $35,000
  • You have to have an email address that active and Facebook page
  • You must be currently enrolled (part-time or full-time) and seeking an undergraduate or graduate degree

Requirements of Scholarship Application

Applicants must submit a top-notch essay that is completely original and not plagiarized whatsoever.

Suggested topics for the essay:

  1. What has been the biggest obstacle that you’ve had to overcome as a student and how did you go about overcoming it?
  2. What is the best book you’ve read and why?
  3. As a young adult, what advice were you given that you still value today?
  4. If you could have dinner with 3 famous people from the past, who would it be?

Video Options

Denver High School Graduates

A video submission can be submitted in lieu of a written essay.  The video needs to be 3-10 minutes long. Submit the video file itself or submit the link to the video online. This is completely your choice and not required for consideration.

Video format: (.MP4 OR .FLX OR .AVI OR .WMV OR .MOV)

Essay Directions

Essays must be 100% original and completely written by you.  The essays need to be submitted as a PDF or a Microsoft Word file ( .DOC, .DOCX) as well as typewritten.

Essays are to be typed, single spaced, and use a 12-point font.

Deadline to enter, June 1, 2017.

Application Submission Guidelines

Please follow guidelines exactly and review your submission before sending it in.

  1. Write your essay or film your optional video.
  2. Send your written or filmed submission via email to [email protected]
  3. Make sure to include your GPA from high school or college.
  4. “Scholarship submission” must be the subject line.
  5. Your email must include your written essay or original video, along with the link to the video online, if not attached. Also include your name, age, mailing address, and your Facebook page URL.
  6. The winner will be notified via email and there will be instructions in the email about how to receive your scholarship. (Identification is required).

Choosing A Scholarship Winner

The winner will be picked the week following the date of the deadline and will be notified via email. The scholarship check will be sent via United States Postal service.

FAQs About the Scholarship

How many times can I apply?

Each student can only apply for the scholarship once.

Are there GPA requirements?

Although there are is no minimum GPA required, we prefer a GPA of 3.0 or above.

Is there a way to check the status of my application?

If you have any questions regarding your application status, please inquire via email. However, once the application is submitted, you must wait until we announce the winner. Please refrain from calling our law office with any questions.

What should I do if I don’t have an email or use Facebook?

In order to be considered for the scholarship, please create a free email and Facebook account.

Can I apply even if I do not have financial needs?

Though we encourage everyone to pursue their education, this award was created for applicants that need financial assistance.

What if I edited my essay and want to resubmit?

In the event you have revised your essay and want to resend your submission prior to the deadline, you can. Follow the submission guidelines mentioned above, but add the word “edited” in the email subject.
